Palatka, FL (3/9/2015) - The 2015
AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series presented
by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, kicked
off its 41st annual season on Saturday with the
Moose Racing Wild Boar GNCC in Palatka, Florida.
The Maxxis/ B. Neal Motorsports machine was tuned
up and ready to take on the 11 mile course that
was filled with deep sand ruts, whoops, and lots
of palmetto roots. Rider Brycen Neal came around
the first corner in second behind Adam McGill and
finished lap one in fourth.
"I got a good jump and just tried to settle
in and ride a good pace on lap one, I had some
nerves with it being the first round and a whole
new program for this year so I was riding a little
tight at the first of the race". Brycen had
dropped to fifth at the halfway point but after
the pit stop put his head down and was able to
get into fourth at the checkers. "I made
a mistake when Chris Borich and Walker Fowler
caught up to me that cost me some time and caused
me to lose touch with them I believe if I could
have hooked on to there pace I would have been
closer to the leaders at the finish but I'm going
to learn from these and hopefully be closer to
the top three very soon" Brycen explained
.
Brycen has spent the winter in Florida testing and training to getting ready for the 2015 season and his hard work was evident after the race.
" I've gotten a great opportunity to come
down to Florida and train this winter with Jay
Shadron at the Costal Compound I can't thank the
Shadron's and Scott Kiger enough for there hospitality.
I am in the best shape I've ever been for
the start of a season and this fourth place was
a good start but now I'm very hungry to start
making my way onto the podium".
"I want to thank all the sponsors that have come on board to help me a lot of them are new to my program and I'm going to do my best to represent them well" Brycen explained.
We look forward to round two next weekend in Washington, Ga.
Brycen and the whole B. Neal Motosports crew want to take this opportunity to thank there sponsors that without them we couldn't be able to compete at the highest level of off-road ATV racing.
