Alamo, NV (5/8/2015) -
Pro Motorsports’ Matt and Jeff Hancock
teamed up for the 2015 Best in the Desert Silver
State 300 and charged their way to their third
Pro Quad class win of the season.
Dry and dusty conditions presented themselves
for this round of the series and the brothers
were glad to be first off the early morning
starting line. “We started first in our class,
and that was huge because there was a lot
of dust, and it was very tough to see, especially
with the sun coming up. A lot of us were riding
one handed trying to block the sun, so we
could see,” said Matt Hancock who was first
to pilot their machine.

Matt Hancock rode until the second pit stop
of the race before handing their Honda TRX
450R off to his brother. Jeff Hancock was
fast and smooth as he charged through the
rally style course and began to catch up to
the motorcycle classes. “We had the lead like
we wanted, but the motorcycles were ahead
of us, and we had to deal with their dust,”
said Jeff Hancock.

At pit stop number six, Matt Hancock took
over once again and was making good time,
but he ended up going off course due to some
mile markers being down. “I got off course
about ¾ of a mile. I was able to get back
on track, but it did cost us and let the other
teams close in,” said Matt Hancock.
Matt Hancock continued on and put in a strong
effort before handing the quad off to Jeff
Hancock for the final stretch of the race.
“At one point I heard on the radio that there
was only an eight second gap between us and
second place, so I really pushed hard and
I was able to pull a nice gap, and we got
the win. We had a good day, and I am really
happy we pulled it off,” said Jeff Hancock.

“It was a crazy day, but we still pulled
off the win and we are really excited about
that. Even with all the dust, our Pro Motorsports
quad ran great and our Maxxis Tires and Tire
Blocks held up and got us another win,” said
Matt Hancock.

Their third win of the season has also allowed
them a comfortable lead in the Pro Quad points
chase. “Overall it was a good race. This is
three wins in a row, and it’s really huge
for us. We have a little more cushion in the
points lead, but Jeff and I are still going
to be going for the win every time. I always
looked up to my brother when he was racing,
and now I am racing with him, so this is really
amazing for me,” said Matt Hancock.
The next round of the 2015 BITD series will
send the team to the “longest off-road race
in the United States” the General Tire Vegas
to Reno on August 13-15th, where Matt and
Jeff Hancock will be going for win number
four.
