Polaris Issues Recall
for 2016-2017 RZR Vehicles
Recall Addresses Possible
Engine Misfires and Overheating Issues
Minneapolis, MN (3/2/2017)
- Polaris wants to make you aware of
a recall that might affect your current loan vehicles:
Model-year 2016-2017 RZR 900, 1000, Turbo and
GENERAL 1000. This recall is not related to any
of the prior recalls Polaris has announced.
The recall is as follows: The vehicle engine
can misfire and the temperatures of the exhaust
and nearby components can get too hot and cause
the components to melt, and/or a contaminated
brake master cylinder may cause unintended brake
drag, posing burn and fire hazards.
While there is a very low incident of occurrences,
if you are in possession of any of these vehicles,
please run the VIN at http://www.polaris.com/en-us/rider-support/off-road-recalls
to see if they are part of the recall. If so,
please do not ride and take the vehicle(s) to
your local Polaris dealership for repair. Parts
are in stock so there should be minimal downtime.
Polaris apologizes for any inconvenience but
wants to assure you that they are taking aggressive
actions to fix their current issues and prevent
future ones. They are making every effort to get
this right. There already have been significant
improvements to product design, manufacturing,
testing and post-sales surveillance processes
for all Polaris vehicles, and these efforts are
ongoing.
