Hurricane Mills, TN – The
2015 Mtn Dew ATV Motocross National Championship
came to a close at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane
Mills, TN. Anticipation mounted as the national
championship all came down to this tenth and final
round of the season. Prior to the gate drop, Yamaha’s
Chad Wienen was leading by fifteen points over Hetrick
Racing’s Joel Hetrick. Despite the pressure, Wienen
came out strong and took both the overall win and
the 2015 Mtn Dew Pro AMA ATV MX National Championship
for the fourth consecutive year.

As the afternoon wore on, increasingly warm,
muggy Tennessee temperatures combined with a dry
racetrack to set the stage for an exciting day
of racing. The track was rougher than usual, further
challenging the racers and providing the fans
with an even better show.
The day started off with Joel Hetrick claiming
the ATVRiders.com Top Qualifier award. This was
Hetrick’s ninth fastest qualifier award in the
ten rounds of racing.
At the end of the day, it was ultimately Yamaha’s
Chad Wienen who took home the victory. The first
moto, Wienen had to settle for second behind Hetrick.
When the gate dropped on the final moto of the
day, Wienen came back with a fire lit under him
and took the moto win and overall win. “ I pulled
a gap right away. The Maxxis tires hooked up good
and the Fox Shox soaked everything up. The Wienen
Motorsports team put it all together. Consistency
is what paid off again today,” explained Wienen.

Wienen’s overall win at Loretta Lynn’s sealed
the deal on his fourth consecutive national championship.
“It’s awesome to finish out the year with a win
and to wrap up the championship for the fourth
time. I’m going enjoy this one, this was a really
hard fought championship. They definitely don’t
get easier. They were really tough on me this
year, and I knew I had to dig deep and really
focus on what I needed to do. Joel had some serious
speed. A couple races he had inconsistency but
that’s how I’ve been able to win all these championships
in the past, and I never gave up on that,” said
Wienen.

Wienen looks forward to going for his fifth championship
next season and credits much of his success to
his great support system and sponsors, “I have
the greatest following between friends, family,
and fans and I am so blessed to have them in my
corner. I also have to give a huge thanks to my
Wienen Motorspots team, I couldn’t do it without
them.”
