Maxxis' #1 Chris Borich Wins River
Ranch GNCC Pro ATV XC1 Class |
River Ranch, FL
(3/13/2013) – Round one of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series kicked off with Maxxis’ Chris Borich picking up right where he left off in 2012. Borich claimed the overall win by 59 seconds at the River Ranch GNCC. Precision Racing’s Adam McGill crossed the finish in second followed by Am-Pro / Yamaha’s Walker Fowler.
Borich got off the line near the front of the pack and didn’t waste time moving into the lead. He and fellow Suzuki racer, Chris Bithell and Adam McGill grabbed the front three spots and took off. Borich led the pack for a while until he went around the FMF Power Play Log Pile by mistake; the detour allowed McGill to take over the number one spot for a while.
On lap four Borich kicked it up a notch and put space between himself and the second position of McGill; Borich gapped the field by an impressive 35.7 seconds during the fourth lap. Borich continued his charge until the checkers when the four-time GNCC champion took his 60th career win.
