The weather couldn't have been better with temperatures in the low 70's and a slight breeze. Not only was the climate ideal, but the track was in great condition for the 55 minute long race. With a total of eighty UTV entries, the staging area was packed with vehicles lining up in their selected starting positions. With a new strategy for drivers to pick a starting gate, each is called to the line in the order that they finished in the previous round. Once the starting positions were selected, the racers started up their vehicles and the sound of dozens of UTV's rumbled in the area.

At 4:15 PM, the UTV Pro class launched from the starting line and the #1 of Beau Baron, who started on the second line, found himself behind tons of other cars. After getting pinched off coming out of the first turn, Baron had to work his way past nearly twenty vehicles, despite the narrow sections on the course. Although he was not in the physical lead, Baron's team was letting him know his times on the pit board. Knowing he needed to push hard to the end, Baron drove on the edge on the last lap and took the win by a mere eleven seconds.

Defending SxS Pro Champion Beau Baron earned his first SxS Win of the season in his Polaris RZR XP 1000 |
Although the track became rougher throughout the race, Baron credits his finely tuned Polaris RZR XP 1000 for allowing him to run such a fast pace. "The Holz car worked awesome along with the Walker Evans Suspension. Big hats off to Polaris, Maxxis, and Sparks and everybody else that helps me, thank you very much," Baron said about his solid car.
Racing in the physical lead from start to finish, the #37 of RJ Anderson was on rails as his lap times dipped well below the ten-minute mark. Driving a smooth consistent race, Anderson seemed to tackle each obstacle with finesse as he was able to limit his mistakes.

in the second spot with adjusted time |
As he mentioned, "consistency is key,"
and he is off to a steady start in the points
lead. Coming off the top of the podium with a
season opener win at round one in Taft, CA, Anderson
was looking to make it two in a row. As the first
driver to take the checkers in his Loan Mart /
Holz / Walker Evans backed Polaris, he came up
just short of another win. However, he was incredibly
pleased with his teammate and their podium finishes.
"I could see Beau coming. We are teammates
and I am happy to share the podium for first and
second with him," Anderson stated about his
team's successful finishes for the event.
