Bakersfield, CA (1/23/2019)
- 51FIFTY Energy Drink has expanded its sponsorship
of David Haagsma for the 2019 racing season.
Haagsma will compete in both on and off road
this season with backing from the rapidly
growing California-based beverage maker.
Haagsma will again run a full season in the
WORCS Series, running a Polaris RZR XP Turbo
in the SXS Pro class. He is gunning for his
third championship in the series after he
had another exciting season in 2018, where
he just missed the title.
“We’re going for both championships in 2019,”
said Haagsma, who won WORCS championships
2016 and 2017. “We had a couple wins and a
lot of podiums in 2018 and I’m very proud
of what we accomplished. Now it’s time to
step it up a notch.”
Never one to relax, Haagsma will also race
in select California road course races in
a Nissan GTR, as well as local circle track
asphalt races in a late model at Kern County
Raceway Park in his hometown of Bakersfield,
CA.
Haagsma is excited about his prospects in
2019 and is looking forward to continuing
a strong relationship with 51FIFTY. The company
believes in pushing yourself…finding your
passion, knowing your dreams, and working
hard, always striving to make those dreams
a reality and Haagsma plans on doing just
that this season.
“51FIFTY was happy with our results last
year,” said Haagsma. “We had a great year
and they really stepped up for 2019. It’s
great to have a sponsor of their stature on
board. They have grown immensely over the
last few years. They sponsor a variety of
different sports from MMA to racing and even
a soccer team. They got behind me in 2018
and will be helping me out even more this
year. I’m excited about what 2019 will bring.”
“We are excited to bring David Haagsma on
for another year with 51FIFTY as he has shown
true potential to bring home a championship,”
said Michael Quiroz of 51FIFTY. “David is
truly living the 51FIFTY lifestyle of chasing
his passion and making his dreams his reality.
We are stoked to be able to be a part of his
journey once again. We cannot wait to see
what the future holds for David in his racing
career, and we truly believe he’s bringing
home a championship this year!”
Haagsma will be back in his Polaris RZR,
eyeing that third title as WORCS SXS racing
gets underway January 25-27 in Primm, NV.
