Saint Croix Falls, WI (5/5/2016)
– Bikeman Performance/ rOtation Motorsports’
drivers Treavis Poynter and Jason Luburgh
overcame their share of difficulties during
the GNCC Pro XC1 SXS race at Camp Coker in
Society Hill, SC. Poynter finished seventh
in the event, while Luburgh was 14th.
Poynter was running up front when an overheating
issue forced him into the pits to get his
radiator cleaned up. He rebounded to finish
seventh and sits ninth in the championship.

“The funny thing is that the number seven
was my lucky number as a kid, but I’m not
liking it so much as an adult,” laughed Poynter.
“We got some points in this race. This track
was really whooped out and I never lifted.
Those axles should have been destroyed, so
I have to give a big shout out to Demon Powersports
Axles. They made it all the way to the end
without failing. The Crash Addicts stuff is
working out great. The front bumper helps
me move people out of the way and the nerf
bars helped us in the woods. We didn’t get
to test the cage, but that’s always a plus.
We did a shock change right before the race
and the Fox Shocks kept the tires on the ground
in the sand whoops. It was a good change and
they worked phenomenally.
“I need to get on the ball and give these
guys something to worry about with the championship,”
added Poynter. “I see myself as a top guy.
I only come to races to get on the podium.”
After getting off to a fourth-place start,
Luburgh was running with the lead pack and
was in the hunt for a podium until the third
lap when a drive belt failure dropped him
back to a 14th-place finish. He’s still in
the hunt in the championship, with a runner-up
finish in the season opener to his credit.

“I was running fourth and we were having
a lot of fun,” said Luburgh, who again teamed
up with his sister Jamie as co-driver. “Then
the belt broke. We changed the belt, but it
set us back. This was a brutal track, but
it was definitely a fun weekend.”
The Bikeman Performance/ rOtation Motorsports’
team will look to reverse their luck when
GNCC SXS racing heads to Millfield, OH May
28-29 for the John Penton.
