Despite coming off an injury, Duncan
Racing's Kyle Fuller finished sixth in both Production A and Pro-Am Classes |
Kyle Fuller returned to competition here after being sidelined with wrist and throat injuries sustained in a crash back in April at Sand Hollow. He finished sixth in both Production A and Pro-Am.
“It’s been a really long road to recovery,” explained Fuller. “I’ve only been able to ride twice before this weekend. I’m getting there and I’m getting closer. The racing went better than I thought it would be considering how long I’ve been out. In Production A, I didn’t get the start I wanted, but I felt good the whole time. Doug redid my Elka shocks and they were great. The bike was working awesome. I just need to work on my fitness.”

Heat and nervousness took its toll early in the Pro Am race. Fuller took his time and rode well, considering the amount of time he was out.
“Today was really hard,” said Fuller. “I couldn’t breath the first two laps because I was so nervous and I had really bad arm pump. I came in, changed my gloves and got some water. From there I was able to charge a little harder. I got my second wind with four laps to go and I started catching up. But this was the hardest race I’ve ever done. We have a month to go to get ready for Primm. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Garrin Fuller finished seventh in the Pro ATV race despite heat stroke setting in late in the race due to 105-degree temperatures at race time. He was pushing in the top five prior to having to pull off due to the heat.

“I was battling in fourth place,” said Fuller. “We were pushing each other pretty hard. I came in to get water on the fourth lap, but the heat got me really bad. I was super dizzy and wasn’t feeling well. I tried cooling off, but my race was over. I’ll regroup for Primm. I’ve never really done well in the heat and I’ve always had issues at Glen Helen.”
The Fullers will be back in action at the season finale for the WORCS Racing Series October 21-23 in Primm, NV.
