McClure Top Five at Limestone 100 GNCC
JMR Racing GNCC Racing Round Six Race Report
Springville, IN (5/22/2016) - JMR/ATVriders.com backed racer Jarrod McClure secured another consistent top five finish at round six of the Grand National Cross Country Series this past weekend in Springville, Indiana. McClure battled his way through the muddy track conditions to finish fifth overall in the XC1 Pro ATV class. McClure’s teammate Randy Hamilton had a less than favorable day when after battling for the final podium position in the XC2 Pro Am Class ran into a mechanical problem that would end his day early.

Round six of the GNCC series returned to The Limestone GNCC track in Springville, Indiana. This facility is an off-road riding park on any other weekend and offers miles of great Indiana trails. Rain had been in the forecast all week and after a strong system moved through Friday night racers knew they were in for a muddy showdown at the 1PM Pro race.
As the green flag waved McClure had one of his better starts this season and was in around the fifth position as the entered the trees. McClure dropped back a few positions early on playing it safe in the conditions.
“ Well we finally got a good start, I was happy with where we went into the woods. I was being a little to conservative in the beginning and I missed a few lines allowing me to drop back a few spots. I made the passes back though and began a charge for the front,” said McClure.
DWT’s McClure battled with Cole Richardson the second half of the race and swapped positions a few times hoping they could run down the lead group, but in the muddy conditions and with lappers becoming an issue it was near impossible to gain time. At the checkered flag McClure had checked in fifth overall for the day.
“I really had fun riding with Cole at the end we both were charging hard, but I waited to long in the beginning to turn it up and I let the lead group get away from me, then I buried in a rut on the last lap, which cost me a bunch of time,“ said McClure.
JMR’s XC2 Pro Am racer Randy Hamilton had a great race going in the mud, coming from an eighth place start all the way up into the fourth position by lap two. Going onto the last lap however, Hamilton ran into a mechanical issue with his machine caused by the mud, which would end his day early.
After six rounds of GNCC racing McClure is sitting fifth overall in the XC1 points, while his team mate Randy Hamilton is sitting fifth in the XC2 pro am points. The JMR team will return to the John Penton GNCC in two weeks ready to go!
