Takes Second at Snowshoe GNCC

backed racer, Randy Hamilton, secured his second
podium finish of the season at round nine of the
Grand National Cross Country Series this past
weekend in Snowshoe, West Virginia. Hamilton battled
his way through the muddy track conditions to
earn second in the XC2 Pro AM ATV class. Hamilton’s
teammate Jarrod McClure had a great ride going
in the XC1 Pro class until a last lap mistake
moved him back in the pack to finish sixth overall
for the day.

Round nine of the GNCC series returned to The
Snowshoe Ski resort for the tenth running of the
Snowshoe GNCC. Known as the toughest race on the
circuit, this year would prove to be no different
as heavy rain plagued the racers once again with
record rainfall coming down on Friday.
As the green flag waved Hamilton got off to a
good start going into the deep woods of snowshoe
in second right behind Cody Collier. He actually
was able to pass a few pro riders early on and
because of the adjusted time at this race had
moved up to seventh overall.

the XC2 class & 15th in the overall
point standings

DWT’s Hamilton battled with Marty Christofferson
much of the race and swapped positions a few times
going onto the last lap. When the duo of Honda
riders checked in for the final time it would
be Hamilton ahead earning him second in the XC2
Class and ninth overall for the day.
JMR’s XC1 Pro racer Jarrod McClure battled with
the lead group of riders all day, and was able
to physically put himself into third and only
seconds off the overall. Going onto the last lap
McClure found himself in the sixth position behind
Brycen Neal, but with the time adjustment was
still looking at a podium finish. With only a
few miles to go McClure made a mistake trying
a different line to get around Neal, which cost
him valuable time. He could never quite catch
the leaders in the last few miles and settled
for sixth.

“It’s not been the year, Randy and I have been
hoping for, I know we are both capable of a lot
better results. Over the summer, we plan on testing
a few new setups and coming back in the second
half and getting on the podium consistent like
last year. We have some great sponsors behind
us, and I know we can be up there, “ said McClure.

After nine rounds of GNCC racing McClure is sitting
sixth overall in the XC1 points, while his team
mate Randy Hamilton is sitting fourth in the XC2
pro am points. The GNCC series goes on summer
break for the next two months but the JMR Team
will be ready to go at the Unadilla GNCC in September.
