Palm City, FL (5/25/2016) – JB Racing’s Jeffrey Rastrelli suffered through unexpected health issues that resulted in the worst weekend of his Pro career at the fifth round of the 2016 AMA ATV Motocross National Championship at High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, PA.
Rastrelli started the day off feeling fine for the timed qualifying and the beginning of the first moto. Issues arose unexpectedly around lap four that caused Rastrelli to pull off the track. “First moto I got a bad start and was pretty much dead last. I made a couple quick moves, but around lap four I got really nauseas and started regurgitating in my helmet,” explained Rastrelli.

Rastrelli attempted to push on, but eventually made a smart decision to play it safe and pulled off the track. “I did that for about three laps, but I just could not take it any more and had to pull off the track, which was unfortunate, but I was getting to the point where I was more concentrated on puking than riding. That is when it gets dangerous, so I decided to pull off.”
When most would have called it a day, Rastrelli suited back up for moto two full of determination to try again. “I felt pretty weak, but of course I was going to try. Just a couple laps in I started dry heaving and just could not perform. It was a tough one to Swallow that is for sure.”

Thankfully Rastrelli is doing much better now and is back to training for the next round. “I am fine now. I’m thinking I had a little flu or food poisoning. It was kind of a weird deal, it has never happened to me before. At first it kind of scared me, but we are fine now.”
Despite the major disappointment, Rastrelli is
trying to stay positive by focusing on the championship
points. “I am excited I did not lose as
many points as I thought. I am in fifth just nine
points below third. Going into Alabama, I could
grab third place back pretty easily if we put
two solid motos together.”
Rastrelli has his sights set on the next round, which will be closer to home and brings with it the excitement of a new track. “I am really excited to go there. When I get on a new track, I really just have a lot of fun with it, and when I have fun, I do well.”
Rastrelli will undoubtedly have a fire lit under him as he goes for redemption at the sixth round of the 2016 AMA ATV Motocross National Championship at Monster Mountain MX Park in Tallassee, AL June 4-5.
