- Racer Tech’s Sam Yokley won the GNCC Single Seat Race at Big Buck in Union, SC, and Jesi Stracham made GNCC racing history by becoming the first woman to claim a podium finish in the Single Seat class with her Polaris ACE, which isn’t the first time she has made GNCC racing history.

Stracham has history on her side, having become the first woman to podium in a youth class 10 years ago riding an ATV, but last year, she was paralyzed from the waist down in a crash, and now races a Polaris ACE specially built by Racer Tech with hand controls to get her back on the track racing again. By overcoming the odds, Stracham overcame adversity at the Big Buck GNCC to once again claim a spot on the podium, but this time it was another first for her in the Single Seat class

“I’m am so excited about it.
I made history back in my shifting days when
I was the first girl on the youth podium,
and now I am the first girl on the ACE podium.
Hopefully I can keep it there,” said
Stracham. “Racer Tech is absolutely
amazing, and I was happy to be up on the podium
with my teammate, Sam Yokley, and it is great
for both of us to have Racer Tech and Polaris
factory support behind us to get on the box.”
While Stracham made history with her podium finish, she didn’t run a flawless race against some stiff competition is a quickly growing class of competitors. “I’m really glad to see how the class is growing. I made a lot of mistakes this round by hitting a few tress and rolling over, but I know what I did wrong, and I am going to learn from these mistakes and be ready to go for another podium finish at the next round in two weeks.”
Racer Tech’s Sam Yokley backed up his fourth-place finish in the first round with his first win of the season. Yokley is now second in points just two points out of the lead.

“It was a great race on a great track,” said Yokley. “The Racer Tech components always do so well along with the Walker Evans shocks. Those Racer Tech High Clearance arms really did the job with all of the stumps out there. It’s great to be back on the box this weekend, and I hope to do it again in two weeks.”
Stracham and Yokley will be back in action as GNCC heads to Camp Coker in Society Hill, SC on April 30th.
