Cedar City, UT (5/26/2016)
- Ray Bulloch is looking to shake off bad
luck in the last round as the WORCS Racing
Championship heads to his hometown this weekend
to Iron Mine Raceway in Cedar City, Utah.
Bulloch is eying consistency in both the SXS
Pro Stock and Pro Unlimited classes as the
series hosts its last race before the annual
summer break.

Bulloch has invited family and friends to the event where he will attempt to get back on the podium after a rare difficult weekend at Sand Hollow in April. Bulloch’s #435 Super ATV/Walker Evans Racing Polaris RZR was in contention in both races at Sand Hollow before the difficult terrain sidelined his efforts.

“I always want to win, but I’ll be happy with a podium,” said Bulloch. “Consistency is really my goal. I just hired a new full-time racing manager to help manage all of our racing stuff and maintain everything to the highest level.”
Bulloch has been the model of consistency this season. Even with last round’s difficulties, Bulloch sits third in both Pro Stock and Pro Unlimited points. In Pro Stock, he’s just 27 points behind the leader after winning three of the five races this season. In Pro Unlimited, he’s a scant 15 points out of the lead with one victory and two runner-up finishes.

A racer at heart, Bulloch isn’t one
to sit still. In fact, last weekend he ran
a Lucas Oil Regional race at Utah Sports Campus
(formerly Miller Motorsports Park) in Salt
Lake City. He finished second in the SXS race
and was running with the pro racers in his
Pro Lite truck before a fire stopped his charge
midway through the race.
“I led most of the SXS race and ended up finishing on the podium with a hole in my transmission,” said Bulloch. “It was a pretty good race, and it’s not a bad finish at all.”
The Pro Lite race was a learning experience for Bulloch. He hopes to build on the data he amassed later this season.
“We may not have finished the Pro Lite race, but we figured out the setup and we were running with most of the Pros that were out there practicing,” said Bulloch. “Our lap times were within a few tenths of a second of the pros. We’ll come back and we should have good finishes. We may even do a few of the Pro Series races.”
As for the Cedar City race, Bulloch is coming in with a lot to prove and he’ll have a platoon of friends and family cheering him on.
“There is a lot of emotion and some pressure,” said Bulloch. “I have a lot of family and friends coming to the race, so there is a lot of excitement. It’s good to show people what this racing is all about.”
Bulloch’s charge will definitely be one to watch as he hits the track in Cedar City, UT May 27-29.
