La Crosse, WI (4/21/2016) - Root River Racing competed at the second round of the 2016 AMA ATV Motocross Nationals at Underground MX in Kemp, Texas. Noah Mickelson won every moto of the weekend to claim the win in both 450 B and Open B. All together, the team accumulated three wins and seven podium finishes.
Noah Mickelson had a dominating weekend. Mickelson spent the winter training in Texas at Splendora MX, and it paid off when he won each moto of 450 B and Open B to capture two first place finishes.

“It feels absolutely amazing. I have not won for almost a year now, so it feels awesome to get two wins. The Motowoz suspension and Hoosier tires worked great. The tires hooked really well out of the corners and the holeshot. The whole Root River bike worked well out there,” said Mickelson.
Logan Tremellen’s monumental weekend included his first ever national win. Tremellen took the win in 450 C and backed it up with a second place finish in Production C. This was Tremellen’s first time back to competition at a national event after an injury sustained last season.

“The Root River Honda worked great. We got the shocks dialed in yesterday, so I was getting over all the rough stuff pretty smooth. I could not thank all of my sponsors enough, especially Rich from Root River Racing. It is great coming off my injury last year. This is the first national I am back, and I am stoked on it,” stated Tremellen.
Root River Racing’s youth rider of Brandon O’Neill also had an excellent performance at Underground. O’Neill captured two podium finishes; a second place finish in the very competitive Youth All Star and a third place finish in Super Mini.

“Its not how I wanted to start my season, but I came down with the flu on Wednesday night and did not get to practice on Friday, so the odds were against me this weekend,” said Vossman. Despite the circumstances, Vossman persevered to take third in women’s and fourth in Schoolgirl.
Tommy Vossman competed in 450 B and Production B. Vossman started off the season strong with two top five finishes, fourth in Production B and fifth in 450 B.

In Pro Am, Mickelson went 5-10 for eleventh overall. In the first moto Mickelson had a great start and was going for a pass but ended up stalling his Root River Honda, causing him to lose several positions. The second moto Mickelson had to work his way up from the back and finished tenth.
“I am going to hit the gym and ride super long motos to get my arms ready to ride these long Pro Am moto’s,” stated Mickelson as he thinks ahead to round three.
Alex Gillette showed his speed in the College 16-24 class. The first moto Gillette suffered from a crash that forced him into the last chance qualifier. Gillette won the last chance qualifier and made the best of it, saying he “just tried to have as much fun as he could.”

Dylan Tremellen competed in the incredibly competitive Pro Am and Pro Sport classes. “First moto of Pro Sport I had a decent race. I was almost in a crash in the start so that put me back behind.
