“The weekend did not turn out too bad. We had lap times pretty close to the top runners. The first moto I had seventh gate pick and came out really good, around third of fourth. I lost a few positions but got a sixth,” stated Upperman.
Thanks to Upperman’s Hoosier tires, he hooked up again the second moto for another great start. “The Hoosier tires did awesome. I got top five starts and they held up all the way through the end of the race. I had traction all around the track so I was really happy with how the tires worked,” said Upperman.

In the second moto, Upperman came on strong once again and secured a top five finish, and he finished sixth overall for the day. “We are definitely making progress. We did a lot of testing in between the races. It is just a battle each weekend trying to get up on the podium, but I have a feeling one of these races everything is going to come together for us and we are going to finish on top,” explained Upperman.
Upperman is already looking forward to the upcoming round at Ironman Raceway. “Ironman is an awesome track. It is really close to the soil I have back home, so I will be pounding laps at home and dialing in the shocks. I got a third last year and with the improvements we have made this year, I am definitely looking to get back up on the podium again,” said Upperman.
Upperman and the Root River Racing team will return to AMA ATV Motocross National Championship racing at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN May 7-8th.
