Brown has been racing injuried since his
crash at Monster Mountain, and after discovering
fractures in his hand, he has decided to
take a weekend off to hopefully get back
to 100% at Red Bud MX |
Thomas injured his hand in a crash in Round 6.
According to Thomas’ doctors, he has several small
fractures in his hand that need time to heal.
Thomas doesn’t need surgery, and he plans to be
back in action at RedBud MX in Buchanan, MI.
“During the first moto in Alabama the bike fell
out of gear on the face of a big triple on the
fourth lap,” explained Thomas. “It was definitely
a wreck I shouldn’t have gotten up from, so I
got lucky there. Every time I’ve ridden since
it’s been painful, and I couldn’t quite grip the
bars the way I normally do. It’s been a struggle
the last few weeks. I knew I needed to get it
looked at. We got some answers and while they
weren’t the perfect answers, it could have been
a lot worse.”
Thomas’ doctors believe the time off will help
heal the fractures and get him back into racing
shape.
“We’ll come out swinging at RedBud,” said Thomas.
“Giving it a weekend off and then a few more weeks
after that should help reduce some of the pain
I’m experiencing. This was a difficult decision
to make, but it had to be made.”
