Sirevaag led most of the Pro Am race before
falling back due to a fuel spill during his
pit stop. He recovered quickly and recorded
his second WORCS Pro Am victory of the season.
Sirevaag sits second in the Pro Am championship,
just two points out of the lead.
“There was only a 30-second gap for the whole
race so there was a lot of pressure,” said
Sirevaag. “It was normal Lake Havasu: rough
and nasty. I took the lead at the start and
never really looked back. I overflowed my
gas tank in the pits, and had to retake the
spot. I just knew I had what it takes and
came in here and won.
“This is my third year with GBC, and they’ve
just been awesome,” added Sirevaag. “They
always make sure I have what I need; they
definitely stand behind their riders. Zbroz
Racing has been phenomenal this year, and
they’ve really stepped up this year. I have
no complaints about the bike. We’ve had to
work out some bugs along the way, and Zbroz
has played a huge role in allowing me to run
for an hour and half. DASA Engine and exhausts
are awesome. They’ve helped me get the holeshots.”
In the Open A race, Sirevaag snagged the
holeshot and recorded his third consecutive
victory. He currently leads the Open A title
chase by 37 points.
“Out of the four rounds, I have three wins
and a second place. We’re doing pretty well
in that class. I’m trying to get Pro Am to
where I am with Open A.”
Though Sirevaag admitted the next track on
the calendar, Sand Hollow, is not his favorite
place in which to race, he’s ready for the
challenge.
“I’m going to be ready,” said Sirevaag. “If
I get a good start, I plan on just checking
out. At the beginning of the season, I wasn’t
sure if I would make the whole series. My
goal is to do my best. I’m not going to worry
about points. In fact, I’m not going to worry
about anything. I know I have what it takes
to do well.”
Sirevaag will be in contention on April 15-17
as WORCS heads to Sand Hollow in Utah.
