ATV Wagon Continues to Gain Market Share

Caldwell, ID - ATV Wagon by Bosski Inc of Caldwell, Idaho was primarily considered a regional company offering their high performance trailers to dealers in the Northwest. In 2005 Bosski expanded with eight new distributors as ATV Wagon trailers penetrated Canada as well as the Northern and Eastern US markets. Bosski also opened up channels of distribution in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Moving into 2006, their expansion continues with the addition of warehouses in Alaska, Texas and Nashville, plus recently a distributor signed on to serve dealers in Kentucky and Tennessee.

“In the last several months we have tripled our distribution capacity,” says Keith Evans, Powersports Group Manager at Bosski. Quite a revolution for a product some people call a cart. “We don’t make carts, we make high performance ATV trailers and dealers and consumers love them,” says Evans. Dealers love the trailers indeed, as an estimated 400 dealers sell and stock ATV Wagon trailers, with nearly half of them brand new dealers in the last year.

Bell Industries of Minneapolis is just one of the distributors having success with the product line, as they ordered over 120 ATV Wagon trailers in the last two quarters of 2005. “Our dealers tell us they are more willing to stock products that their customers will ask for by name; we have found this to be true with ATV Wagon trailers,” says Brad Benson, Cycle/Snow/ATV Manager for Bell Industries. At Bell’s summer annual dealer-buying show, interest was high. Later Bell placed an ad in Powersports Business magazine and had numerous inquiries on the high performance ATV Wagon trailers. Benson expands, “Our feedback from current dealers and the responses from our ad demonstrate that ATV Wagon trailers are a product ATV enthusiasts will buy”.

ATV Wagon trailers offer features found no where else, such as, independent suspension, brake/tail lights, electric Power RAM cylinder which dumps over a thousand pounds, huge 25” tires, and power brakes. Bosski’s success is having their retailers sell quality and features, just like Matt Krsul of Redline Sports in Butte, Montana. “ATV Wagon trailers have been a great addition to our business. Many of our customers are fed up with the discount “disposable” trailers that have been available. A little extra salesmanship to feature-benefit the quality of the product is all it takes to satisfy a customer,” says Krsul.

Educating and earning dealers can still be challenging. Evans explains, “A few dealers tell us they can’t sell pull-behind trailers, as they can barely sell the plastic carts they have now. Consumers are buying big, powerful quads in record numbers and these dealers may be offering small carts that are not even rated to go faster than 20MPH! Of course they can’t sell plastic carts, their customers want strong trailers that can keep up with their ATV.” Big quads demand big trailers.

The statistics don’t lie. The largest and fastest growing market of ATVs is the over 500cc segment. Based on a MIC study, pull-behind trailers are one of the top accessory purchases made by an ATV consumer. Consumers want to get more out of their quad, they want to haul more and have more cargo room. The Aluminum series of ATV Wagon trailers are creating a whole new lifestyle—ATV camping. Now a consumer can take all their gear, stow it in the ATV Wagon where it is kept clean, safe, and dry, then go on an ATV adventure anywhere their quad takes them.

ATV Wagon by Bosski will be making their manufacture debut at the Indy Dealer Expo at booth 6307. New products featured will be their camouflaged aluminum recreational trailers and newly updated 2006 line of ATV Wagon Utility trailers. Learn more at www.atvwagon.com or call them at 208-455-8433.
