Josh Creamer went 5-7 finishing seventh overall at RedBud Motocross |
Red bud was the hosting facility for round eight where warm weather greeted the BCS Performance team. Track conditions started out good, but became quite rough throughout the day.
Josh Creamer had a solid run in the first moto, despite a mechanical issue earlier in practice. Creamer came off the start in fifth and held his ground from start to finish; taking fifth at the moto one checkered flag.
“We had a mechanical issue in the first practice and didn’t have enough time to test out the set up and we got beat up pretty bad, but we still ended up in fifth so not too bad,” said Creamer.
For moto two, Creamer was just inside the top ten off the start after connecting with Jeffrey Rastrelli and Thomas Brown and worked into the number six spot. Creamer and Rastrelli battled for several laps, but Creamer ended with a seventh place finish. Creamer’s 5-7 finishes put him in seventh overall for the day.
"In the second moto, it was really close on the start and we all got smashed together, and Rastrelli and I had a good battle going for a while, and I finished the day seventh overall,” said Creamer.
Ronnie Higgerson was doing his best this weekend despite riding injured, and in a cast, after fracturing his tibia at Unadilla. ”I went to the doctor after that and they said it was okay, but it still kept hurting, so I got a second opinion, and they told me my tibia had a crack in it,” said Higgerson.

Ronnie Higgerson also finished seventh overall in the Pro-Am Class despite racing with a cast & a cracked tibia |
Higgerson still made a good effort in both Pro-am motos despite his injury, and riding in a cast, taking 8-7 finishes for seventh overall. Higgerson is currently second in Pro-am points and only 4 points behind the leader. Depending how the final round goes at Loretta Lynn’s, Higgerson could still take the championship. “I’m hoping my leg is healed better and I can take the cast off and ride normally. It was really weird riding with a cast this weekend. I just want to be able to go to Loretta’s and do well and hopefully bring home a championship,” said Higgerson.
The final round of the 2014 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships will head to Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN on August 9-10 where the BCS team will be going for the podium.
