Parker, AZ (1/15/2014) - Team CT Racing's David Scott and Danny Prather took the round one win in the Best in the Desert season opener at the Parker 250 in Parker, AZ.
Arizona offered ideal weather conditions for the race weekend. With temperatures reaching almost eighty degrees and a slight breeze to keep dust from settling on the course, the duo was prepared to defend their #1 plate.
Danny Prather started the race for the team shortly after sunrise. As the last Pro Quad to leave the line, he was already five minutes behind the first place team. The men knew they had their work cut out for themselves if they wanted to take the season opening win. The defending champions were ready to give it everything they had to assure they walked away with the points lead.

"We definitely had to work for it, there's a lot of tough competition out there," Scott said about the stacked field. We took off last in our class, so we knew if we got up front we would for sure have it," he stated about their race winning strategy.

When Prather handed the machine off to teammate David Scott at the half way point, it was up to him to make the final few passes for the lead. When he approached the final 15 miles of the race he made the final pass on the leading Q83 machine of Cody Mitchell and Colt Brinkerhoff. Cruising his way to the finish, the team expressed their excitement and how appreciative they were to have such a phenomenally working machine.
"The bike was working flawless," Prather said about his Honda. He added, "the Elka shocks worked great and the CT motor just ripped I can't explain how fast our bike was today."
The race track, often known as the tale of two courses, offers high speed sand wash sections as well as extremely rocky rugged obstacles. Although several teams slowed their pace and struggled through the rougher second half of the race, the Ricky Stator/DWT team seemed to make up time through the rugged terrain. The veteran racers experience helped them make smart line choices, and ride at a comfortable pace to overtake the lead, and win by a commanding six minutes.
After winning the championship for the third straight year in 2013, the entire team is excited for a full season of action-packed BITD racing. Hoping to capture yet another championship, the CT Racing team is prepared to fight for the title yet again.
With the season opener win under their belt, the team will head to The Mint 400 in March for round two. With the goal of extending their points lead, the entire team will be prepared and ready to take on another win.
