Australia (6/16/2011) - After the
mad scramble to build the GBC Motorsports’
Honda TRX 700XX, it was now time to Bomb Squad’s
Wes Miller to test out how fast he was against a
field of over 500 racers with timed qualifiers held
the day before the race to determine the starting
position for the start of the first leg of the race
across the 230km long Australian desert.
The timed qualifier track was just 5 miles long,
and all racers had a chance to get in a site lap
before heading out one more time, which was timed.
Wes Miller felt great on his run, but he was obviously
dissatisfied with his 8th place position among
other ATV racers and in the around 70th overall
out of the over 500 entries, which we feel is
pretty impressive considering this is Wes Miller’s
first attempt at the Finke Australian Desert Race.
With the timed qualifiers behind Miller, his
focus now is on the race, which will run over
the next two days, so stay tuned to see how GBC’s
Wes Miller makes out on his quest for “King
of the Desert”.
