Bakersfield, CA (10/24/2014) - Maxxis/ H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron claimed both the Pro ATV and the Pro SXS championships at the 2014 WORCS series, while David Haagsma wrapped up the SXS 1000 championship and claimed his second straight win in the Pro ATV class.

David Haagsma won the WORCS Racing season finale in the ATV Pro Class while teammate Beau Baron finished third. Baron's finish was good enough for him to earn the 2014 WORCS Racing Pro ATV Championship |
The final round of the 2014 WORCS series was held in Primm, NV at Buffalo Bill’s and it was a huge round for the H&M Motorsports team with Beau Baron and David Haagsma both in the running for championships.
As typical for a desert round, the course was sandy and became very rough over the course of the day, especially since it was a combined round with both the ATV’s and bikes on the track at the same time.
David Haagsma was looking good off the start in the Pro ATV class and was chasing down second place. Haagsma didn’t have to wait long before he was able to take over second and then the lead. Haagsma was followed by teammate, Beau Baron, and the pair battled it out for several laps before Baron hit a rock and stalled, allowing Haagsma to relax a bit and cruise to the checkered flag for the win. Haagsma’s solid performance this season gave him second overall in series points.

David Haagsma quickly took over the lead to earn his third race of the season |
“It’s been a great season and I am really stoked that our team did so well. Beau wrapped up the championship and I was able to finish second in points right behind him,” said Haagsma.
Beau Baron only needed to finish half of the laps for the final round in order to take home his fourth Pro ATV championship, but Baron was still going for the win. Baron was in the top five off the start and quickly moved into second behind his teammate. Baron was hoping to take the lead and the win, but he ended up hitting a rock, which cost him valuable time and put him back to a third place finish. Baron’s podium finish was still more than enough for him to clench the 2014 WORCS Pro ATV championship.

Beau Baron was hoping to claim one last win for the season, but he would finish third at Buffalo Bills. Baron claimed five wins in the WORCS Racing ATV Class in 2014 |
“I am really stoked to win another championship. This is my fourth ATV championship and I am really happy for myself and for my sponsors. H&M has given me the tools I need to win. This has been a good year for the team and me. We are one and two in points so that is a huge accomplishment,” said Baron.
In the SXS Pro class, Beau Baron wrapped up the championship at round eight but that didn’t stop him from wanting the final win of the season. The start for the SXS classes had all of the SXS classes lined up and racing at the same time, which put over 60 UTV’s on the track. The start was pretty chaotic and there was plenty of carnage, but Baron managed to escape it, but after just two laps, Baron encountered a clutch issue that put an end to his day.

Beau Baron claimed his second WORCS UTV Championship at Round 8 |
“I was a little disappointed, but I guess it is better to have a little bad luck when it doesn’t really matter so much. This is my second UTV championship and it’s really unbelievable and to win championships in both the ATV and SXS classes is really special to me. I have put in a lot of hard work and thanks to my team and my sponsors, I was able to make it happen,” said Baron.
In the SXS 1000 class, David Haagsma was in a tight points battle all season, but the final round couldn’t have gone any better for him by claiming the win and the championship.

David Haagsma clinched the WORCS Racing SxS 1000 Class Championship in style as he earned the win at the last WORCS Racing round of the year |
“I had a pretty good race. The first corner was a little sketchy, but I was in second behind Matt Hancock. I was able to make a pass on him and I took the lead. We caught up to some of the pro guys and it was hard to get around them, but I just tried to drive smart and it got me the win. It was a really close battle all season and it came down to the last race so I am really excited to take home the championship,” said Haagsma.
H&M Motorsports would like to thank all of their sponsors, friends, family and especially their fans for all of their support this season and look forward to another winning season in 2015.
