New Berlin, NY (7/17/2014) - JB Racing’s Jeffrey Rastrelli earned his best ever pro finish this weekend at the 2014 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championship with a third place podium finish and topped it off with a win in Sunday’s Pro-am race, while William “Duck” Lloyd took the win in the Open A class.
The legendary Unadilla Motocross Facility played host for round seven of the series, where good weather and good track conditions were on hand for racers.
JB Racing’s Jeffrey Rastrelli has come on strong in the last few rounds, and it seemed that it was only a matter of time before Rastrelli would be standing on the Pro podium and this weekend he reached his goal. “I can’t even tell you how happy I am,” said Rastrelli of his accomplishment.

In the first moto, Rastrelli was second off the start behind John Natalie. Rastrelli stayed close and at the midway point, he took the lead when Natalie blew a shock. Rastrelli led for one lap before Chad Wienen slipped by, but Rastrelli held off a charging Thomas Brown and claimed a second place finish; his best ever pro moto finish. For moto two, Rastrelli was close to the front but got pushed out on the start and rode in fourth place for most of the moto. In the final laps Rastrelli battled it out with Josh Upperman and claimed a fifth place finish, which put him on the pro podium in third.

“I got a really good start in moto one and ended up following Natalie for a bit and trying to see where I might be able to get around him and then he had a shock issue and I got by and took the lead. Wienen eventually caught me, but I just tried to go out there and ride my own race and give it everything I had. It was my best moto finish ever, and I am really happy about it,” said Rastrelli.
For Sunday’s Pro-am class, Rastrelli seemed unstoppable as he charged his way to the top of the podium for his second Pro-am win of the season. Rastrelli’s win has him ranked second in series points and only seven points behind the leader and within striking distance of a championship.
“This weekend couldn’t have gone any better. JB Racing did a great job on my Can-Am, it was running awesome. I got on the podium for the first time in the pro class and took the win in Pro-am. I couldn’t ask for anything more,” said Rastrelli.
JB Racing’s William “Duck” Lloyd came on strong in the Open A class and took his second win of the season. Lloyd was in second off the start in the first moto and recorded the fastest lap time with a time of 01:58.242 in lap three. In the final lap of the moto, Lloyd took over the lead and claimed the moto one win. In moto two, Lloyd was in third off the start and began to pressure the competition. Lloyd put in solid lap times and claimed a second place finish in moto two, giving him the overall win.
