Byrd Training Facility Racer Cam Covil Top Five in Pro-Am Class
Mount Morris, PA (5/21/2014) - Round 3, Mount Morris, Pennsylvania proved to be an interesting weekend. After having a 6 week break, Byrd Training Facility “BTF” riders were anxious to hear the gates drop.
Pro-Am Rookie, Cam Covil got the fastest qualifier lap during the Pro-Am practice. With winning in his site, he came off the gate for the 1st moto not quite as planned and started mid pack. After battling his way for 2nd place, him and another rider got stuck together and sadly pushed Covil back to 15th place.
BTF rider Covil being the fighter he is, made his way back to 9th place before the checkered flag waved. Covil was able to redeem himself in moto 2 and place third earning him 4th overall for the weekend.
BTF rider Greg Miller of the Senior 40+ class, started out strong in the 1st moto with a 3rd place finish. During the 2nd moto, he had a good start and came out of the Holeshot 2nd but collided with another rider on the 2nd turn, remounted and had to work his way from last place to 7th. Miller had an overall finish of 5th for the weekend.
BTF rider Kirkland Jack of the Schoolboy Sr class had a strong start in the 1st moto and held on to 2nd. Kirkland ended up 2nd overall for his class.
BTF riders are looking forward to the Walnut Illinois race and are busy training hard.
