Shelbyville, TN (5/15/2014) - Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) round number
six was held at the legendary Loretta Lynn's Ranch in
Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. The state of Tennessee
is the home of Team UXC Racing and they are glad to
see the infamous track back in the series after it was
taken out of the circuit last year.
Scattered storms threatened all weekend but held off
Saturday morning providing perfect conditions at the
start of the race. Team UXC’s #209 Michael Swift
jetted off the line mid pack and moved into fourth
position by the second lap. Heading into the third lap,
Swift had motored into third place and made a hard
charge to close the gap between him and the leaders.
By lap four the #209 had closed that gap and his pit
crew notified him it would be a grueling six lap race.
“When I saw the pit board I knew that I was going to
probably need to stop for fuel at the end of my next
lap. I knew I needed to take the lead and try to create
a big enough gap that I could pit and keep my lead,”
stated Swift.

Michael Swift earned third place in the GNCC Racing Pro 4x4 Class on his Team UXC Racing / Polaris Scrambler 850 |
The #209 Polaris Scrambler did just that, taking the
lead at the seven mile marker on the fifth lap, and
pitting for gas at the beginning of the last lap. “I had
created a gap after taking the lead but it just wasn’t
quite enough as they passed me back as I exited the
pits. I rode close to their bumpers the entire last lap
waiting for the opportunity to pass but it just did not
happen. I will take a third place podium finish and be
proud of it,” claimed Swift.
Swift crossed the finish line on his Polaris Scrambler
850 XP with a third place finish. “I had an excellent
race. The Polaris Scrambler 850 XP was so much fun
to ride, it handled great, and performed above and
beyond. I look forward to taking this momentum to the
next round and move up a couple of spots,” states
Swift.
Team UXC Racing also had a guest rider at the
notorious Loretta Lynn’s track. Team UXC prepped a
Polaris Scrambler 850 XP for Scott Wheeler of Tupelo,
Mississippi. Wheeler raced the Scrambler in the 4x4
Senior Class and had a great day and a lot of fun
trying out the new machine. Wheeler crossed the
finish line with an impressive first place podium
position.

“The Polaris Scrambler 850 XP performed
flawlessly the entire race with great power and
excellent handling. I walked away very impressed and
excited about the possibility of another chance to ride
a Team UXC prepped Scrambler 850. A big thank you
to Michael Swift and Team UXC, “ stated Wheeler.
