Vechery Racing's Tyler Hamrick Wins Braircliff MX
ATV Motocross Pro-Am Racer Tyler Hamrick
Hiram, OH (6/23/2014) - Perfect weather and two great days of racing met Vechery Racing for Round 5 of the Mtn Dew AMA ATV Motocross at Briarcliff MX. This new stop on the tour was a special one for Vechery Racing as Briarcliff MX plays host as the team’s home track. “It was really special to get to race at one of the best facilities on the schedule and also be a home race for the team. The racing was great and it was nice to have a track owner that is also an ATV racer. We really hope we get to race here again next year.” said team owner Scott Vechery.

Tyler Hamrick earned the win in Pro-AM Moto 1 |
With one of the most intense races of the season, Sunday’s Pro-Am race saw fans lining the track as hometown favorite Tyler Hamrick made his way to the front of the pack in both motos. In the first moto Hamrick was able to quickly pass his way from 5th to 1st and carry a strong lead to the checkered flag. Even after a red flag restart for moto two, Hamrick once again worked his way to the front as he and Jeffrey Rastrelli battled back and forth crossing the finish line wheel to wheel. The one-two scores gave Hamrick his first overall of the year and bumped him to second in points heading into round six. “I am really happy to win in front of all of my Ohio fans, and to win this race on Father’s day is even better!” said Hamrick. On Saturday for the AMA ATV Pro race Hamrick was able to bring home his best finish with an 8th overall.

Sophomore pro Tim Dettling made the decision to race Briarcliff after sitting out the last two rounds due to his left leg injury. With not much seat time Dettling was able to secure a top 15 finish at his home track. “I’m still working on getting myself back into race shape to compete up where I know I belong, but I couldn’t miss racing at Briarcliff. Jeremy [Osborn] does a great job promoting ATV racing in Ohio and I was really excited to be able to race an AMA ATV Pro event at his track.” explained Dettling.
After breaking his jaw just a few weeks prior to his home race Scottie Vechery returned to action in the 450A class. Scottie was able to take it easy and bring home an 8th place finish in Moto one. Unfortunately a wreck in front of Scottie in Moto two left him near the back of the pack with an 18th overall finish.
Vechery Racing/Never Sleep Designs Satellite support rider Dan Hoisington unfortunately suffered a practice crash on Friday that left the College 16-24 class points leader on the sidelines with a broken leg and ankle. New team member Vince Mirman took home a podium finish as well as two tenth place finishes in Open B, Production B and 450B. Alex Pafford also took home a podium finish as well as two 12th place finishes in Super Mini, Schoolboy Jr Open and Schoolboy Sr. Senior class racer Dave Schrock secured an eight place finish in 40+.
