WORCS Racing Expands SxS Classes

Hurricane, UT (11/13/2014) – The 2015 WORCS Racing Series will be offering 9 national championship SxS classes to suit any type of vehicle. In the adult classes the Unlimited class will now be a national championship class for the 2015 season. The introduction of the Pro Stock Class this will provide a true race it on Saturday buy it on Monday class.

1. Production 600 (13-16 years)

3. Production SS (single seat) 600 (13-16 years)
4. Production SS (single seat) 400
5. Production 200 (6-12 years)
6. Stock Production 200 (6-12 years)
  
The rules changes and additions are as follows:

Production Stock. All production safety rules apply. No motor modifications may be done. All engine components are to remain OEM and within OEM tolerances. The following exceptions are allowed. Clutch system to include belt and anything within the clutch assembly, Exhaust system, fuel control computer, air filter element.

Turbo's will only be allowed in the unlimited class.

The Unlimited, Pro and 1000 classes and will be staged at rnd 1  based off Friday afternoon practice qualifier times. At all other rounds the same classes will be staged by points with row 1 drawing for position out of the hat at drivers meeting. Failure to draw will result in last staging position on row 1. All other classes will be random at round 1 and points at all subsequent rounds.

Checkered flag will be thrown on the leader of the event for all multiple line races.

There are nine Adult National Championship Race classes of SXS in WORCS

  1. Unlimited

  2. Pro Production

  3. Pro Stock

  4. Production 1000

  5. Production 1000 Stock

  6. Production 900

  7. Production 700

  8. Production 600 (single seat or 2 seat)

  9. Powder Puff

There is one non-championship, non-point paying class for fun and first time racers.

  1. Sportsman

PITS: Each racer will be give 3 pits pass bands at the time of registration. Only those 3 banned pit personnel will be allowed in the pit area. No children or pets will be allowed.

The following SXS rules will only apply to Production Pro, Pro Stock, 1000, 1000 stock, 900, 700, 600, Single Seat 600.

  1. All vehicles must pass technical inspection prior to going to starting line. Failure to do so will result in loss of gate pick.
  2. All factory suspension a-arm, trailing arm pivot points must remain in stock location.
  3. No superchargers, turbos (Only Unlimited class), nitrous or any other pressurization/injection type system will be allowed.
  4. All vehicles must have a fire extinguisher and it must be readily accessible to the driver. It must be mounted in with a quick release type mechanism.
  1. Race numbers will be a minimum of 8 inches tall with the specific color designation for the class. Number shall be readable from sides and back of each car. Minimum 4 inch number facing the front of the car above driver's front window. Extra-large roof top panel numbers are beneficial.
  2. Aftermarket well-built roll cages made for racing are recommended. No factory stock roll cages will be allowed. Factory cages will only be allowed if modified/reinforced and tied into rear bumper/frame at two points. Gusseting of the factory cage is highly encouraged.
  3. Metal roof panels are required.
  4. Lockable side protection doors must be mounted in a way as to not be able to pop open during racing. Factory doors with secondary locking mechanism are approved.
  5. Driver side window nets are required.
  6. Passenger side nets or passenger hand restraints are required if you have a passenger.
  7. 3" wide five point restraint system for both driver and occupant are required. The 5 point system must include an antisubmarine belt that is at least 2" wide.
  8. Full personal safety gear must be worn to include
    1. Fire retardant suits must be worn that cover from neck to ankles

    2. Helmets, gloves, goggles racing shoes or boots.

    3. Motorcycle type race gear will NOT be allowed as it is extremely flammable. 

  1. Tech hours are Sat 9:00am- ? (Depending on race time) Saturday and vehicles must go thru Tech prior to going to staging.

  2. All youth classes will abide by the same safety mods as the adult classes with NO WAIVERS GIVEN.

  3. The Unlimited, Pro and 1000 classes and will be staged at round 1 based off Friday afternoon practice qualifier times. At all other rounds the same classes will be staged by points with row 1 drawing for position out of the hat at drivers meeting. Failure to draw will result in last staging position on row 1. All other classes will be random at round 1 and points at all subsequent rounds.

  4. There is no passing in the scoring chute. Passing in the chute will result in disciplinary action up to and including disqualification.

  5. All SXS Racers/or representative must attend and sign in at the mandatory drivers meeting on Saturday at posted scheduled times at registration. Failure to attend will mean loss of staging position. 

  6. The PRO Stock class will follow production based guide lines except as listed below.

  • No motor modifications may be done. All components are to remain OEM and within OEM tolerances. The following exceptions are allowed. Clutch system to include belt and anything within the clutch assembly, Exhaust system, Fuel control computer, air filter element.

The following rules only apply to Beginner Sportsman class.

  1. Must abide by all Safety requirements and rules as stated above the rules below are the only exceptions.

  2. This is not a competition class and will not receive WORCS championship points.

  3. No vehicle may race more than 3 times in the Stock Beginner Class without meeting all safety requirements for their race class. Prior to being moved to the appropriate race class for your vehicle.

  4. No superchargers, turbos, nitrous or any other pressurization/injection type system will be allowed.

  5. Factory Roll cages are allowed but not recommended. Aftermarket well-built roll cages made for racing are recommended. If factory roll cage is used gusseting and supporting the factory cage at two points that go to rear bumper/frame are highly encouraged.

YOUTH SXS Rules

There are six National Championship Race classes of Youth SXS in WORCS

Youth Single Seat 600 13-16 Years old.
Youth Single Seat 400

600cc 13-16 Years old Stock
600cc 13-16 Years old Production.    

200cc 6-12   Years old Stock
200cc 6-12   Years old Production  

All of the safety mods will be the same for the youth racers as they are for the adults with NO waivers given. No AGE waivers will be given. 

2 inch seat belts will be allowed.

The 600cc classes will run the full course. The 200cc/400cc will run the moto with a small off road section so we can see them all the time.

The classifications of Stock means mods are not allowed.
