Then in other ATV action on Sunday, Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson took his third overall win of the 2014 Yamaha Quad X season by grabbing the holeshot and leading every lap of both motos in a combined Pro/Pro Am race at The Ranch in Anza, Calif. Already a four-time Quad X champion, Nelson leads the 2014 series aboard his own YFZ450R.
In Pennsylvania on Saturday, Wienen got the holeshot and led the first of two AMA Pro ATV motos from start to finish, taking the checkers nearly six seconds ahead of rival Joel Hetrick as teammate Brown finished sixth. Wienen started second in moto two but missed a line in a corner and dropped to third behind Hetrick and John Natalie.

With all three riders desperate to take the moto win, it took Wienen most of the race to find a way past Natalie and into second place. In doing so, Wienen made a spectacular inside pass in the rollers and then raced after Hetrick in an effort to secure 1-1 motos for the day. Eventually though, he ran out of time and laps to do it, and had to settle for second. Happily, Brown improved to fifth position, securing his top-five overall finish in the process.
