Blountville, TN (4/5/2014) – Yamaha’s Chad Wienen scored his second straight 2014 Mtn Dew AMA ATV Pro Motocross Overall Win at Muddy Creek with a 2-1 finish. DWT’s John Natalie won moto one and went on to finish second overall. Maxxis’ Josh Upperman came on strong at round two and claimed the final spot on the Pro ATV Motocross Podium.

For round two, Pro Motocross Racers were once again treated to dry conditions, which is a welcome change from last season, and 19 Pro racers signed up for the second round of racing, which made for a nearly full gate and some exciting racing action.

Round 2 of the Mtn Dew ATV Motocross Championship was held at Muddy Creek

For the second straight race, FOX’s Chad Wienen put down the fastest lap-times in qualifier with a time of 1:49.127, which scored him another point toward ATVriders.com Fastest Qualifier Championship Award, and earned him the first gate selection.

In Moto One, Chad Wienen came out in the second spot behind John Natalie, but despite several attempts to make a move on Natalie, Wienen wasn’t able to make a pass attempt stick, which kept Wienen within one second of Natalie the entire moto. Wienen played it safe and finished moto one in second place.

Chad Wienen challenged John Natalie for the lead several times in the first Moto, but Wienen was unable to make the pass & finished in the 2nd spot

In Moto Two, Wienen once again came out in second, but this time behind Josh Upperman, but Wienen’s Malaska engine outpowered Upperman, which allowed Wienen to take over the lead before the end of lap. Once out front, Wienen was gradually able to pull away from Upperman to take the moto two win with four seconds to spare at the checkered flag.

Chad Wienen passed Josh Upperman in the first lap of Moto two & held the lead for the rest of the moto for the overall win

Maxxis’ Chad Wienen second overall win in a row brings his points total to 94, which extends Wienen’s championship points lead to six over John Natalie in second.
