Hurricane Mills, TN(8/15/2014) - The 2014 Mtn Dew ATV Motocross National Championship Racing Series headed to the legendary Loretta Lynn’s Motocross in Hurricane, TN for the season finale. Although there was a fair amount of rain that fell during the race weekend, it did not stop the young racers from going out and competing one last time before the end of the season.
For many classes, it came down the last and final round of the ATV Motocross Racing Series. One of the most competitive classes in the youth ranks is the Schoolboy Sr. (14-17) Class. Despite the wet and muddy conditions, it did not stop Cole Sepesi from clenching the Schoolboy Sr. (14-17) Class Championship. Sepesi finished second in the first moto and third in the second moto. Although Sepesi didn’t take the overall, he earned enough points to win the championship by a slim 8 points!

Finishing fifth at ATV Motocross Round 9 was Tyler Mack. The young racer ran into some issues in Moto 1 but came back with vengeance in moto 2 placing second. Mack’s fifth place finish overall put him second in the points chase.
Rounding out the Schoolboy Sr. (14-17) Class Championship podium was Kirkland Jack from Florida. Jack accumulated points throughout the season and his sixth place finish at Loretta Lynn’s placed him third in the Schoolboy Sr. (14-17) Class Championship.
Earning his first win of the season in the Schoolboy Sr. (14-17) Class, Westly Wolfe finished on a high note dominating both motos. Wolfe’s 1-1 finish earned him the top spot on the Schoolboy Sr. (14-17) Class podium at Loretta Lynn’s.

Sky Volkamer ended his season with a win in the Schoolboy Jr. (13-15) Class. Volkamer scored perfect 1-1 moto finishes to earn the overall. The Honda mounted racer claimed an impressive five wins in the Schoolboy Jr. (13-15) Class and never finished worse than second place the entire season!
Finishing second in the Schoolboy Jr. (13-15) Class Points Championship was Nicholas Weber. Earning two wins this season, Weber only finished out of the top five once. Weber also took the final spot on the Schoolboy Jr. (13-15) Class Podium in third place at Loretta Lynn’s MX.
Grayson Eller had a busy season, not only did he race in the Schoolboy Sr. (14-17) Class but he also raced in the Schoolboy Jr. (13-15) and Schoolboy Jr. (13-15) Open Class. Eller was able to tie his season best finish of second place at Loretta Lynns’ in the Schoolboy Jr. (13-15). His second place finish also earned him valuable points towards his third place finish in the Schoolboy Jr. (13-15) Class championship.
In the SuperMini Class, Root River Racing Noah Mickelson took the win at Loretta Lynn’s. Finishing with a total of three wins, Mickelson earned the SuperMini Class Championship.
Also finishing with three wins this season was Mickelson’s closest rival in the SuperMini Class, Gunner Tebon. The pair battled back a fourth all season long. At Loretta Lynn’s Tebon was able to capture the Moto 1 win, but in Moto 2, it would be Mickelson that slipped by for the win with Tebon finishing second. Tebon finished just seven points shy of Noah Mickelson in first.
Peyton Zimmerman was in good contention for the SuperMini Class Championship heading into the final round. Unfortunately for Zimmerman, luck would not be on his side as two twelfth place finishes gave him twelfth overall at Loretta Lynn’s. Despite the less than desirable finishes at the season finale, Zimmerman still earned third place in the SuperMini Class Championship.
Earning the final spot on the SuperMini Class podium at Loretta Lynn’s was Payden Lingle. After earning the win at the race prior, Lingle finished with a scorecard of 4-3. Lingle finished the season on the box, where he hopes to start once again next year.
