Martinsville, IN (8/11/2014) - The MAXC Racing Series hosted Copperhead Row MAXC Round 6 in Martinsville, IN this past weekend. It looked as if this race would be a wet one as the forecast read scattered showers throughout the day. Luckily, the only rain the track received was the night before that helped keep the dust down to a minimum. Marshal Goings earned the win in the Pro ATV Class followed by Kevin Cunningham and Taylor Kiser, who finished second and third.

The Copperhead Row always features a challenging course with many hill climbs and creek runs, and this year it was no different. Most of the Pro racers completed six laps on the seven-mile track. Each passing lap, the spectators were entertained by the high speed section through pro row, jump, and hill climb that were all in close proximity to the parking areas.
Marshal Goings made his second appearance this season at MAXC Round 6. The Indiana native earned his first win of the season in style by leading all six laps. Marshal Goings was fourth or fifth heading into the first turn, but quickly worked his way into the number one position and never looked back.

Kevin Cunningham got off to a great start by grabbing the holeshot. Cunningham dropped back to second by the end of the first lap, but tried to apply the pressure to Marshal Goings. Cunningham slowly reeled in Goings but ran out of time and would finish just eleven seconds behind him in second.

“Marshal (Goings) got around us and got out front. He pitted early and we caught up to him and we pitted I think on the third lap and we tried to reel him in and it just didn’t happen; we came pretty close but not close enough. The track was pretty good and it flowed real well. We were able to salvage some points; Taylor and I are battling for points real close. I am just happy to be up here on the podium,” explained Kevin Cunningham
