Grand Junction, CO (9/28/2016)
- Robbie Mitchell made the trip from Utah pay off
as he won the RMURA ATV season finale in the A Class,
and Brian Barsh clinched the championship with his
second-place finish. Austin Turner was third, followed
by Cole Racine and Kevin Kilpatrick.
With temperatures in the mid-70s and rain off
and on all the week leading up to the race, the
weather and track was perfect for racing. The
series returned to its one-moto, one-hour race
format. ATVRiders.com offered a special $600 purse,
with $300 going to the winner, $200 to the runner-up
and $100 to the third-place finisher.

Robbie Mitchell had trouble with the series’
flagged start and came out fourth. But he only
took a lap and half to take the lead. So dominant
was his run that he lapped up to third place at
the finish. Meanwhile, Turner and Barsh had a
thrilling battle for second, with Barsh just taking
the spot in the end.

WORCS Pro
ATV Racer, Robbie Mitchell, made the trip
over to Colorado for the RMURA Season
Finale
|
“I wish I had come out here before the WORCS
race in Glen Helen because this was great practice
for cornering,” said Mitchell. “Everyone here
is really cool. I think the series has a lot of
potential. The track is short, but it has some
motocross, some good fast off road and some hills..
The track was a lot of fun. I wasn’t sure how
they started the race, so I was caught back on
the start. It wasn’t a good one for the holeshot
today, but I had a great time.”
