Katie Vernola &
Hailie Deegan Podium at Terracross
::Continued::
Vernola survived carnage at the start and finished
third in the first race. She said she learned
a lot about how to drive on the technical track.

Fule Off-Road's
Katie Vernola scored a podium finish for
Round One
|
“At the start we all slammed into each other,
but I stayed calm and worked my way through,”
said Vernola. “I know what to do and what not
to do in the next round. Finishing on the podium
means a lot to me. I like this course a lot better
than last year. I can actually catch some speed
and we finally got a triple. That’s the kind of
racing I like to do. It’s a good show and I’m
enjoying it. I’m fortunate to have both K&N
filters and Fuel Off Road sponsoring me this year.”
Deegan is the youngest competitor in the Terracross
field. The veteran off roader, Legends Car and
late model racer didn’t let her age faze her.
After leading the first two laps of the first
race, a broken axle and rear differential problem
sidelined her hard charge. Her luck changed in
the second race.

15 Year Old,
Hailie Deegan, the "Dirt Princess"
made her Terracross Racing debut at Hay
Days & finished on the podium in Round
Two
|
“This is my first time racing Terracross and
we did really well,” said Deegan, who also competed
with her father in the Shootout race. “I broke
a front axle on the parade lap of the first lap
and then the rear diff pulled out. I wish I could
have gotten to the front faster in the second
race. I was just focused on finishing, so I was
happy to finish third.”

Commonwealth
Motorsport's Jamie Luburgh just missed
a podium finish in Round 2 finishing in
the 4th spot after rolling over in the
final lap
