Comprising three horse arenas and the grounds
surrounding the casino, the circuit featured everything
from big air jumps, log sections, sand, dirt and
clay, as well as tunnels made of shipping containers.
The 30 minute race was held on a Saturday night
in front of a massive crowd. With 26 UTVs in the
field, the race started in four rows.
After staring on the third row, HOLZ Racing’s
RJ Anderson picked his way through the field to
net his first WORCS victory of the season. He
led a sweep of the podium by Polaris RZR Racers.

Round
3 of the WORCS Series was held at the South
Point Casino, which is also one of RJ Anderson's
main sponsors |
“This place is like my home,” said Anderson.
“They’ve been huge supporters. In fact, one of
the only reasons I get to race off road is because
of the South Point Casino owner, so to come to
his house and win is just phenomenal for me. I
have to thank Polaris in sweeping this podium
and building an awesome machine.

Traxxis' RJ Anderson held on to
take the win with adjusted time over Mickey
Thomas |
“What a fun course,” added Anderson. “I didn’t
think I even had a shot. I actually rolled after
hitting one of the Yamahas. I landed back on my
wheels and I got back going again.”
Addict Racing’s Mickey Thomas didn’t only race
at the South Point Casino WORCS, but he also raced
in the Lucas Oil Truck Race at Glen Helen earlier
in the day, he traveled nearly 200 miles to Las
Vegas to race in the WORCS event afterwards. Thomas
inherited the physical lead when David Haagsma
clipped the edge of the one of the tunnels and
had to retire early.

Walker
Evans Racing's Mickey Thomas extended his
WORCS SxS Pro points lead with his third
straight podium finish |
“I’m still chasing my first WORCS win, but I’m
happy with second and extending my points lead,”
said Thomas. “Traffic was tough here and that
was really the biggest battle. This race was at
9:45 so we had time to race the truck at the Glen
Helen regional then we hustled over here for this
race. I didn’t even take off my race suit. It
was a good day all around.”
