Cedar City, UT (6/2/2016) – David
Haagsma returned to WORCS Pro ATV competition at
Iron Mine Race Park and dominated, earning his first
victory of the season. CST’s Beau Baron finished
second, extending his points lead to 30 going into
the summer break. Robbie Mitchell battled past Mike
Sloan to finish third, ahead of Garrin Fuller and
Matthew Hancock.

The ATV race started in the afternoon after a
full program of motorcycle racing. With temperatures
in the 80s and a slight breeze, the track dried
out quickly and dust hampered visibility throughout
the contest.

Racing's Beau Baron grabbed the WORCS Pro
ATV Holeshot |
CST’s Beau Baron took the holeshot at the gated
start, but Haagsma was immediately on his tail.
The two battled until Haagsma took the top spot
for good on the second lap. From there he wasn’t
seriously challenged.

Beau
Baron & David Haagsma battled for the
lead early in the race |
“I really like this track, so I figured I’d come
out and run it,” said Haagsma, who is running
the full AMA Pro ATV Motocross Series. “I had
a lot of fun this weekend. I had some problems
in the SXS yesterday, so this is a little redemption.
I was nervous on the line because Beau is always
a great competitor. Last year here we battled
until the last second. It was muddy and dusty
on the first lap, so I knew I had to get past
him. It feels great to get this win. I’ve been
struggling back east and had some bad luck. To
get back in the top spot feels great.”

Defending
WORCS Pro ATV Champion, David Haagsma, claimed
his first win of the season after not racing
since the second round |
Baron earned his seventh consecutive podium in
as many races after the thrilling battle with
Haagsma. His five victories this season, along
with a third and the runner-up finish here will
make him tough to beat when the series heads back
to Glen Helen Raceway in September.

Beau
Baron secured the second spot on the podium
to maintain the points lead in the WORCS
Pro ATV Class |
“I got into this slick stuff and David was just
railing the berms,” said Baron. “I just kept cutting
him off and my arms were just so pumped up. I’m
not used to sprinting like that and he was pushing
me a little more than I wanted to be pushed so
I let him go. From there I just ran a consistent
pace. It’s nice to go into the break with the
points lead. It’s a weight off of my shoulders.
I want to win every race, and I’m going to shoot
for that for the last two races.”
