“We’re very excited to offer
the Jagged X Edition which provides a whole
new customer solution featuring the most popular
options straight from the factory,” said
Craig Scanlon, general manager, Recreational

The
2013 Polaris RZR XP 900 HO Jagged X Edition
is based on chassis of the 2013 Polaris
RZR XP 4 900 with its 107.4" long
wheelbase, but without the extra pair
of seats for this high performance RZR
offering from Polaris |
Being arguably the most popular off-road destination
in Southern California, the Glamis Sand dunes
provide an excellent proving ground for the
new machine. The open riding areas offer
seemingly limitless possibilities of terrain
that would put any vehicle to its ultimate performance
challenge.

After
a brief overview of the features of the
Polaris RZR XP 900 HO Jagged X Edition,
we were ready to head for some driving
before the sunset |
Our test drive covered about 40 miles and featured
plenty of elevation changes as we rode along
the dunes, and it was a great location to test
out the RZR not only in the deep, soft sand
but in the more hard-packed and tight trails
through the brush on the outskirts of the land.

The
Polaris RZR XP 900 Jagged X Edition SxS
at Sunset overlooking the Sand Dunes |
We found a few high speed straight-a-ways,
as well as some sections of deep whoops that
really put the Walker Evan suspension to the
test. We did not have much daylight from the
time the Jagged X RZR XP 900 was released to
us until sunset but we made the most of it and
were able to test everything from handling to
top speed and were very pleased with power.
The 2013 Polaris RZR XP 900 H.O. Jagged X Edition
SxS / UTV features a high output 94 horsepower
ProStar 900 Twin EFI engine with a stainless
steel SLP exhaust that provided ample power
and made the even larger / heavier RZR accelerate
and feel similar to the smaller / lighter two
seat Polaris RZR XP 900 rather than the four
seater that is similar size and weight.
The 26 inch longer wheelbase of the Polaris
Jagged X Edition provides the smoother ride
that you experience with the four seater, but
power is no longer lost because of it.

A
stainless steel SLP (Starting Line Products)
dual exhaust system comes stock on the
Polaris RZR XP 900 Jagged X Edition, which
provides increased performance |
The stainless steel SLP exhaust has dual outlets
for increased exhaust flow and gives the RZR
a nicely aggressive race-like sound. The
clutches were also updated with new weights
to provide increased acceleration performance
to accommodate this increased power.
