Millville, MN - In 2008, Polaris
introduced two new versions of the Outlaw ATV
with the addition of the 450MXR and 525S. With
three different Outlaw models, Polaris had something
for every type of sport rider, whether they were
a weekend warrior, sand enthusiast, XC or MX track
racer Polaris had them covered. No one would have
blamed Polaris for being conservative in model
changes for 2009 with the slowing US economy and
lower consumer spending, especially since Polaris
just released the Outlaw 450MXR and 525S the year
prior.
Instead, Polaris went well beyond bold new
graphics and responded to racers and enthusiast
to make significant changes to all their 2009
Outlaw ATV models, and we are talking real racer
/ consumer inspired updates as Polaris continues
to seek a larger market share in the ATV &
UTV market. The Polaris Outlaw 450MXR, 525S
and 525IRS return for 2009 with their high revving
KTM engines, Keihen 39mm FCR carburetors, Douglas
rolled edge rims, Maxxis tires, Steel braided
brake lines and hydraulic clutch, but these
are some of the few features that remain the
same.

Polaris Outlaw ATVs feature and all new
look along with numerous updates as Polaris
responds to consumer demand |
At first glance of the 2009 Outlaws most consumers
won't even know they are looking at a Polaris
Outlaw because the 2009 Outlaw sport ATV line-up
has gone through a number of changes all of
which make them even more worthy of your consideration
for your next high performance ATV purchase.
The first thing you will notice about the
2009 Outlaw line-up is that they look completely
different from the Outlaw models of old. Polaris
received a lot of feed back from racers and
consumers about the high profile plastic and
perception that the Outlaws felt big compared
to the competition. Polaris completely reworked
the look of the Outlaw with much lower plastic
profile and a single headlight, a smaller more
compact fuel tank and redesigned seat.

2009 Polaris Outlaw new styling dramatically
changes the look of Outlaw model, which
not only improves it appearance, but it
also improves rider comfort and allows
enhances rider maneuverability with is
redesigned fenders and seat

In an effort to reduce weight Polaris equipped
the Outlaws with sturdy aluminum heel pockets
eliminating the heavy more complex steel wire
baskets need to support prior years plastic
heel pockets. The steel front bumper has also
been replaced by a lighter redesigned aluminum
bumper. Six pounds doesn't seem like much of
a weight savings but when you subtract that
from last years class leading weights of the
Outlaws you can imagine that the ’09 Outlaws
are very agile. All of these updates to the
2009 Outlaws make them some of the best performing
and most capable sport quads on the market today.

The weight savings was accomplished not only
by the addition of the new aluminum front bumper,
aluminum heel pockets, but also elimination
of the PRO Steering system. Although the PRO
steering system worked well, it was complicated
and required more maintenance than a conventional
steering stem design. So, for 2009 Polaris has
changed the Outlaws to a conventional straight
steering stem design. This conventional steering
system appears to be well designed. It uses
thick, high strength tie rods, tie rod ends
and has the same tight steering radius as the
PRO steering system.
