ATVriders.com: Cole, which class did you run last year?
Cole
Richardson:
I ran college A. I finished second in points,
and it was my goal coming into this year with
a top fifteen number, and I made it happen.
ATVriders.com: And you’re doing it from the third row and back right? Who were your biggest competition?
Cole
Richardson: Third, fourth, and fifth rows back were pretty much all of my starts, and my biggest competitors were Marshall (Goings) and Jay (Shadron) . We all had a good battles for the entire season.

Cole Richardson has been training with GNCC Pro Racer Walker Fowler |
ATVriders.com: How excited are you for the Pro-Am class this year?
Cole
Richardson: Pro-Am class this year is gonna be super exciting because you get to start on the same row every race. It’s going to be a different feeling being there with the Pro guys, and making you want to push harder so it should be great.
ATVriders.com: What kind of ATV are you racing on and what did you race last year? Any new help for this season?
Cole
Richardson: I’m racing a Yamaha YFZ450R. This year I’m getting helped out by Yamaha and Walker Fowler Racing. We ride together (Walker Fowler) and train, and it really helps out with my fitness and riding quality. I’ve been riding with him as much as I can to get faster.
ATVriders.com: How do you like the new 2014 Yamaha YFZ450R?
Cole
Richardson: The 2014 Yamaha feels pretty much like the 2013 model to me which is a good thing because I didn’t have to re-learn the ATV.

ATVriders.com:
And you’re a senior in high-school? It must
be pretty hard training and balancing school
too?
Cole
Richardson:
I’m a senior at Union Area Highschool in New
Castle, PA, and I graduate in May, so we’ve
been pretty good with it so far, and my principal
is okay with my missing a few days here and
there for training. I’ve kept my grades up,
and so far it’s been great.
