I shot an e-mail off to Mobil 1 concerning them dropping the red cap oil and it's new replacement. Take this for what you will but realize that this is directly from them.
"No the Mobil 1 Extended Performance will not meet the requirements for a wet clutch. Mobil has only two oils that will, the 20W50 V-Twin and 10W40 MX4T."
I ran the red cap in my 400ex for about a year with ZERO problems....don't be skeered

I have used the Vtwin oil a couple of times with good results. It is pricey though $7 quart.

do they still make red-cap?
Wow that sucks. I just bought 10 gallons of the new stuff and used it on the oil change this weekend... Looks like I"ll be taking 1 jug back to wally world.
I did take the quad for a run and the clutch wasn't slipping but I"m gonna drain it anyway.
I also put in a email to mobil one for more info.
Their motorcycle oil is 2X as expensive as the regular so this info really sucks..
