SECOND PLACE IN GEORGIA! by bradley300
As we head into the Georgia round of the GNCC's and the 4th article of out build up, we are starting to see some serious mods that will help your Blaster stand apart from a weekend trail quad. In this article we will stray from the suspension and look at another vital componet on any endurance racer. This article is a full review and how to install a IMS gas tank on a Blaster. Because the IMS tank does not use the stock tank cover, we will also look at some sweet gaphics from Thequadshop.
In bone stock form, (including the pipe) the Blaster gets great gas mileage. A 3 lap GNCC would be no problem on a stock tank and a 4 lap race shouldnt pose a problm either. We are thinking ahead though. Once you start modding a Blaster, they will suck feul and you will find your self wondering just how long you can actually go.
The new tank takes all of your cares away. At a massive 4 gallons (stock is 2.2) it's nearly double the size of a stock tank. It will also do away with the tank cover and graphics. The tank retails for 225 dollars according to www.imsproducts.com . You have a few different color options and make sure you pick the right color, beacuse the entire tank is exposed. Your choices are Black, Blue, Purple, Natural and White. For my quad, i chose the black one to match the rest of my quad.
