I am about to purchase a set of front ITP Bajas for my 400ex. My question is I already have a set on there but they are trashed which is why I am getting a used set off of someone. How do I measure the offset? The ones he is selling me are 4:1 but I dont know if this is good or bad if it makes it more wide or not? I run XC btw. So how do you measure the offset because I will like the same size I had. Thanks

I think 4 is from the center to the outside of the rim and 1 is from the center to the backside of the rim. Don't quote me on that but I think that is what it means.

The measurement is always from inside the wheel (bead to bead), but you can get an idea of the offset by measuring from the mounting surface(where wheel touches the hub) to the outside of the rim. You just need to subtract approx 1/2" from each measurement.

For example if you get around 3.5" to the inside and 2.5" to outside of the rim it is a 3.2 rim. If you get around 4.5 inside and 1.5 outside it is a 4.1 rim.

Hope that helps,
