I am having trouble with my quad fouling plugs. For motor mods I have a LRD Exhaust, and a K&N Filter (No Lid). In the summer I ran a 165 main, and 50 pilot (like LRD said), and my quad ran excellant. Well its winter now...probably about 35 degrees out...I tried running it with the same jetting and it FOULED THE PLUG. If I remember correctly your suppose to go richer in the winter, right? Well then I tried lowering the main...I went from the 165 and slowly worked my way to a 152...and it still fouling them....I already bought about 4-5 plugs, and I am getting pretty frustrated. Anyone have ANY idea what the deal is? Thanks in advance guys.

I would say your pilot is too rich. Try dropping it down to a 42, put in a new plug, and see how she runs. I have a similar setup as you, but have a 165 dynojet main and a 40 pilot. Seems to run good.

Long enough for the plug to go bad :(

what position is your needle clip? how many turns on your air screw? do you still run a choke on your bike?

Needle is in the 4th notch down, the air screw is 1 turn out from stock, and I still run the choke :)

were in different area's of the country, i'm in tennessee, but i have done a few for friends, here a starting point, pilot 38-40 "but with the choke 38 is fine" main 150-154, needle 2nd notch from top, air screw 1 1/2- 2 turns out, it works well here with just a pipe and filter

if this was a 2 stroke i would understand the jettin needed to be changed from season to season...but a 4 stroke...sounds like u have other problems...

i agree with above post, but i don't see how it was not fouling plugs with the jetting he was running in the summer
