400ex upgrades....

Anybody know any good upgrades to do? I know about the bore kit already will do that later on...I was thinking a cam, rejetting,and sprockets...Will there be any noticeable changes?

put a pipe on it,take the airbox lid off and rejet it first.youll notice a difference. then after that start thinking about other mods.

not trying to recommend anything, but i put a ct racing exhaust & k&n air filter on my 400ex and it was a major difference over stock. i was satisfied w/ the gains.

I took my air box lid off, and have a FMF

for the time being you can do an exhaust, 450r carb and remove the lid. later when ya decide to break the seal on the engine you can add a bit of compression, do a weeee bit of porting and do a cam mod.

if youve already got a pipe another thing you could get is a sparks advanced timing key. theyre cheap and it makes the throttle response better.

Have you thought about suspension? To be honest that you actually make you faster than doing motor mods but if your on a budget than motor mods aint a bad place to start.

14 tooth front sprocket (along with a pipe, larger main jet, airbox lid off and a good filter). makes the 400ex feel like a totally diff. bike. also, you can find a 450r carb for about 100 bucks, INCREDIBLE response.

like said before suspension will make you faster, then do pipe etc
