View Full Version : Reservoirs
what is the purpose of a reservoir on front and rear aftermarket shocks?
When the oil inside the shock gets hot enough, the damping action will be reduced and the shock will start to 'fade'...
The resevoirs allow the shocks to have a larger volume of oil, which in turn takes longer to heat up, helping to prevent fade. I would imagine that the resevoirs also provide some amount of cooling to to the oil.
