I built this bike for my 3.5 year old daughter for a Christmas Present. Started with a 26" girls Schwinn Caliente 10 speed. Stripped everything off of the frame, cut 8" out of both parallel tubes and welded them back together. Cut 7.5" off of the seat tube and bent down the seat stays and welded them back on. Sandblasted the whole thing, used body filler where the splices are and primed it with automotive epoxy primer. Painted it with acrylic basecoat and House of Color urethane clear. The color is 1993 Geo Tracker magenta which is almost an exact match to the original color of this bike. I used alot of new parts because it's a present for my little girl. The tires are 16" rear w/coaster brake and 12" front. The crank, sprocket and seat post clamp are from a mongoose, and the other used parts are the frame, forks, bearings, and reflectors.

thats awsome man and the cool thing is i understood every thing you said because i ride bmx and built up bikes from the frame up in a couple hours. thats a sweet bike though, she should be proud:)

Yes she liked it. She rode it on Christmas day. And cbr1000XX, I have probably at least $150 into it. I don't think I could sell them and make a profit when I consider my time. Plus the paint was donated to me by a friend(cost me some Corona). Who would pay that much for a bike like this? I doubt many would.

me too i thought it was soo gay at the time because all my friends ha cool mountain bikes and i get a schwin stingray with a 4 ft sissy bar on it and a big ***** bannana seat but now i think its pery cool

I got my 4 year old son a PW50, and when he saw it he asked "why didn't you get me a red one?". Kids, I just don't understand them.

Thanks guys! I'm actually building one for my youngest Son for his 10th birthday. He's helping with it too. I'll post a picture of it when it's done. Hey Joe, glad to see you back! Did you change your AIM name? I don't ever see you online anymore. Give me a shout.

QF - That is so awesome! You may be inspiring me!
I had a couple of chopped bikes when I was a kid... you know you would just cut some forks off another bike and slide them onto your bikes forks.... and don't pop a wheelie or your forks would dig into the asphalt when your tire and add-ons went rolling down the street! :)
Meek, you are so right. Kids who have the goodies... well they tend to expect the goodies! :) They just don't understand that not every kid gets to go on cool trail rides and has somebody to buy and fix their toys. They also don't realize that some dads don't use their extra time with the kids. I speak from experience. But I'm sure that at times I was like this too --> :devil:
my good for nothin dad has never done anything like that for me:grr:

and, as you "said" he bought you a $5,000 dollar fourwheeler, most expensive thing i got was my cr250 that i paid half for, and it was 3400, try paying for all your maintnence.. And i am thankful.
