Ensenada, Mexico (11/17/2014) - The 47th Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 took place this past weekend in Baja Mexico. The BAJA 1000 is arguably the most grueling most challenging race in North America.

This year the BAJA 1000 attracted racers from 34 U.S. States and 17 Countries and covered a total of 1,275 miles from Ensenada, Baja California to La Paz, Baja California Sur. There were a total of 237 race entries including ATVs, UTV, Trucks, Motorcycles, and Buggies and there was only 133 racers who made it through the finish line, which was only about 56.12 percent.

In the premier UTV Class (Class 19 UTV), John Angal and Brian Bush earned the win in their Polaris RZR XP 1000 with a time of 33:25:13. The teams average speed was 38.15 mph.

Finishing only 3 minutes behind the leaders was the team of Matt Parks, Jason Spiess, and Brandon Schueler with a time of 33:28:54 in their Polaris RZR XP 1000.

Rounding out Class 19 UTV was the Can-Am Maverick team that was driven by Cory Sappington, Scott Sappington, Tyler Dixon, and Donovan Cain.

The Honda 450R mounted team of Javier Robles Manlio Diaz, Felipe Velez, Michael Cafro, Jorie Williams, and Josh Row took top honors in the Pro ATV Class with a time of 27:59:29 with an average speed 45.83 mph. The team finished an impressive 5 hours ahead of second place!

Finishing second was the team of Sergio Valverde, Stephen Davis, Juan Sandez, Pedro Loya, and Luis Kinijara on their Honda 450R with a time of 33:08:34.

The team of Joe Ramos, Mike Zelenka, Chris Wilson and Adam Barnes rounded out the Pro ATV podium on their Honda 450R with a time of 42:32:08.

In the Sportsman ATV Class, the team made up of Edwin Sanchez, Cesar Zamudio, Carlos Jordan, Mario A. Gonzalez took the win on their Honda 450R with a time of 32:06:15 with an average speed of 40.02 mph.

Placing second in the Sportsman ATV Class was Jorge Magana, Edgar Josue, Carlos Sanchez with a time 33:57:22, also on a Honda 450R.

Taking the final spot on the Sportsman ATV Class Podium was Fidel Gonzalez, Adulfo Loya, Fernando Amador, B. Ramiro Gonzalez on their Yamaha Raptor with a time of 34:22:19.

Although the UXC Racing / Driven Motorsports team of Don Higbee, Chris Robinson, Michael Burrows, and Michael Swift finished fourth in the Sportsman ATV Class, it was enough for them to clinch the SCORE International Championship on their Polaris Scrambler XP 1000 in the Sportsman ATV Class.

The legendary SCORE BAJA will take place once again on November 18-21, 2015 and will mark the final race of the season.
