Top ATV Motocross Racers Head to Edge of Summer MX Event

Morgantown, WV (8/25/2015) - In what's shaping up to be one heck of an opening afternoon of racing at the August 28-30 Edge of Summer MX event at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, ATV racers will take to the venue's entire motocross track for the first time in the event's history as some of the nation's top AMA Pro ATV compeitors will battle it out for bragging rights and more than $12K in purse and bonuses to kick off Edge of Summer MX at Soaring Eagle!

Highlighting Friday's (Aug. 28) Pro ATV class on the full pro track at Soaring Eagle for the 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. main events will be three of the top four nationally-ranked Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championships racers Joel Hetrick (Hetrick Racing/Corrosion Specialties Honda), Thomas Brown (Maxxis Yamaha, powered by Moto-Xperts) and Jeffrey Rastrelli (JB Racing/Can-Am/Liquid Wrench).

"All-in-all we're pumped to be coming up to Michigan to race at Soaring Eagle," said Brown, who recently finished up in 3rd place overall in the national point chase. "We saw all the exposure the event got last year and it's a great venue. The $12,000 purse will put some of the nation's top racers in on the pro gate and I can guarantee the quads are going to open the eyes of some of the dirt bike racers - while putting on a great show for the fans!"

Action begins with amateur practice at 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28th and amateur racing and pro qualifying following immediately after. Pro finals will take place at 3 p.m. and 5p.m.  The Edge of Summer MX event's ATV racing features 19 classes - from Pro to kids, women and veteran racers. Friday's Pro ATV final motos are at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.; Saturday's Pro MX (dirt bikes) racing finals begin at 6:30 p.m. Gates open daily at 6 a.m. for amateur practice and racing, beginning at 9 a.m.Friday, 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Midwest's top amateur and nationally-ranked pro motocross and ATV racers battle for a $62,000-plus purse.

ATV autograph session: 
Trackside on Friday, 5:30 p.m., following the final Pro class moto.

Dirt Bike autograph session:
Trackside on Saturday from 5-6 p.m. at the RCH Racing rig with RC, Hart, Roczen & Tickle.

Tickets: 
Just $25 per day/$40 for the entire weekend and are available at the gate.
