Bryan Buckhannon claimed a third place finish in
the 4x4 Pro class for his sixth straight podium
finish of the season at the Tomahawk, round six
of the 2015 GNCC series in Odessa, NY.
This was the first time the Seneca Highland track
has hosted GNCC racing. The course offered a variety
of terrain with tight trails in the woods and
high speed, wide open fields. The weather was
favorable, with mild temps and dry conditions.

Bryan Buckhannon, who was feeling a bit under
the weather for this round still had a good start
and put in a strong effort. Buckhannon was in
second off the start and took over the lead early
in the first lap. Buckhannon soon came under fire
in the second lap and battled hard, swapping positions
several times. “We had a good battle going out
there and it was a lot of fun,” said Buckhannon.
Buckhannon took the lead again in the third lap
but ended up getting tangled up with a lapper
and fell back to third. “He was trying to get
out of the way but ended up cutting right in front
of me, and we connected. We got tangled up and
by the time I got free, I had lost a couple positions
and didn’t have time to close back in,” said Buckhannon.

Despite the setback, Buckhannon still managed
to finish third in his class and third overall.
Unfortunately due to him not feeling well, Bryan
Buckhannon missed the podium ceremonies. “I really
wasn’t feeling well but I really want to thank
all of my sponsors. My Can-Am was running great
out there and the course was really fun. I’m a
little disappointed I didn’t get a win, but I
plan to be feeling better for the next round,
which is in my home state, so I am really excited
about that, and hopefully I will be on top of
the box there,” said Buckhannon, who still holds
the 4x4 Pro points lead.
Round seven of the 2015 GNCC series, the Rocky
Mountain Mountaineer Run, in Masontown, WV will
be held on May 23rd, where Bryan Buckhannon will
be going for the win.
