- Maxxis / H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma finished fourth overall at the final round of the 2015 Mtn Dew AMA ATV MX National Championship held at the legendary Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mill’s, TN.
Haagsma launched out of the gate in the first moto and battled his way to a fifth place finish. “I had a great start. I have to thank Curtis Sparks and Maxxis tires for hooking up and almost bringing me the holeshot. It was nice to run with Wienen and Hetrick for a little while first moto, but I was a little off their pace and finished the moto in fifth,” explained Haagsma.

Moto two Haagsma had another great start, and ran in second and third place for most of the moto. “ I was right with Upperman and Byrd in the first corner. I was able to get Byrd in the first lap, but later in the moto I was ran down, so I ended fourth for that moto and fourth overall for the day,” said Haagsma.

Loretta Lynn’s was only Haagsma’s third appearance at a Mtn Dew ATV National this season. Haagsma enjoyed his time at the race and looks forward to next season, saying, “The track is pretty gnarly and the heat is a lot different than our heat back home. It’s hard coming here and competing with these guys, but it’s a lot of fun and it’s a cool place to race. The track turned out really rough, but overall I was pretty happy. I’m going to come back next year and do the whole series, hopefully. I’ve done three rounds this season. It’s nice to come out here and get two top fives to show that I’ve got the pace. I just need to put some more work in to hang with these guys.”
